Poitjie Cookoff Team Building Event
Our Poitjie Cookoff team building event is suitable for groups looking for fun but relaxing day out with team building objectives and a fun learning experience.
We provide all ingredients, poitjie’s, cookers, prep tables, cooking utensils and gazebo’s if required.
The event runs as follows:
Team Building challenges to determine winners who get the first choice on the meat ingredients of their potjie. We provide a range of meat bases including, lamb, oxtail, beef, and chicken.
Teams are then given time to look at menu suggestions and plan their auction strategy to get the required ingredients for their planned menu.
We then hold an auction in which teams use their allotted Company Dollars to bid for vegetable items including potatoes, onions, mushrooms, patty pans, carrots, sweet potatoes, courgettes, tomatoes, and butternut.
Upon conclusion of the auction, teams are given time to barter with one another in a focus on negotiation skills by breaking the exercise down to the most basic form of economic exchange.
Once the bartering is complete, the spice table opens and the cooking can begin. Teams are given 3 hours to cook their meal. A wide range of spices are available for teams to create the perfect poitjie.

Communication – teamwork – delegation – planning and strategy.
This team building experience will provide your team with an opportunity to, learn about the skills, strengths, and weaknesses of other team members by working together towards a common goal and using the element of competition to harness the value of teamwork as well as having a great company day out.
Price
The pricing for this 4-hour team building event includes your meal, and compliments to the poitjie including, rice, cocktail rolls and 3 salads. Venue hire and drinks are for your own account unless otherwise arranged but are not included in the pricing below, we are able to assist with venue suggestions so please contact us
